Gael

Evening,
Sorry I haven`t updated in a while, been struggling to find a decent interweb connection.

So, Hiroshima, probably the most peaceful place i`ve been in a loooooonnnnnng time.

The group and I went to the peace park on the first full day, beautiful!

The next day was one of our group members birthdays, so in the evening we went out for a meal and then went to kareoke, I had to prove that I could sing dragonforce , so that was fun :)

Afterwards we hit Nagasaki

I wasn`t overly fond of nagasaki, but due to the long travel time from hiroshima, we ended up only spent one full day in nagasaki.

And finally yesterday evening we made to Kyoto.

Now when I used to think of Kyoto , I thought it looked all like this http://blog.asiahotels.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/garden-staircase-kyoto.jpg

But the truth is it looks alot like this http://c0170351.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/127_6_l.jpg
which threw me completely, we spent today wandering around various temples , castles and even a zen Gardern. But todays main event was when we all got our free time , me and a few other members of our group went to see some traditional dance by a group called Geiko & Maiko

I was swept away by the beauty of it all, when I get back i`ll upload a video of some of what I saw.

Last but not least we went searching for Geisha, we saw one , but I didn`t get any pictures.

Tomorrows a free day, so I`m ging to try and find the thouand Torii gates http://www.jaywye.com/wp-images/japan2006/dsc_3828_fushimi_gates_1000.jpg

I may not Post again until I reach Tokyo, it depends on if Mt Fuji has an internet connection ( and if its any good )

Busy Shinagawa

Finally a post thats not written at ungodly hours of the morning ^^;

Its about 1pm here and i`m sitting in an internet cafe in Shinagawa

It`s been raining here since I got up, which made the walk to the station a nightmare, ubt once I got to the staition the whole trip got alot smoother, made it to shinagawa in record time, unfortunatly my hotel doesn`t allow bookings in until 2pm, so here I am ,wasting time, at least until the rain stops ^^;.

sleepless mornings

Morning

I find myself sitting at a PC screen once again, early in the morning. Its almost 3am here and I find

myself unable to sleep, I'm guessing it's because i slept in earlier. Anywho, today was rather uneventful, with a nice case of homesickness upon me i decided to stay in my room, and managed to fall asleep again, i awoke at about 9pm ish and decided to check my emails, after that i hit the hotels pub which turned out to be a small room near the garden, I had my first meal there , yakisoba , which was Delicious.

(yakisoba- not my pic)

At the pub I met four men from australia, They had all been on a training course in aikido and were spending their last night at my hotel before heading home. I have to say thankyou to all four of them ( Richard-san, Ben-san, Scott-san and Mark-san, Domo Arigatou gozimasu !)
They managed to talk the home sickness away and reasurred me that i'd have a great time.

anyway I should go to bed, I need some form of rest before i get the trains Later on today XD

Good Morning

Greetings from Japan

It's 5am here, i'm sitting in the lobby of my hotel.

After a 12hour flight from Heathrow i finally made it to Japan ( tired cheering)

Navigating myself around Narita airport was rather easy to, a little trouble switching between trains ,but luckily I came across a nice american who showed me how to use the subway ticket machines ( thanks Sir!).

Finally i made to my hotel, a little panic after not being able to get ahold of my parents ( i did only an hour ago, thanks lauren I owe you big time ! ) Got a few hours of rest and here I am.

Not planing on doing much today, just resting :)
